Today,74 years ago, on 6th January, 1945, one of the most famous, most enduring , most fruitful mariages in history, was contracted.
On this day, George H. W. Bush, a World War II veteran married his sweetheart, Barbara Pierce, at the First Presbyterian Church in Rye, New York. The couple lived together for 73 years, until the death of Barbara on 17th April, 2018. George joined his beloved wife, barely seven months later, on December 1, 2018.
Between the couple, they had seven, but six surviving children. George went on to become the 41st President of the United States, after becoming the 43rd Vice President for two terms, thus, making Barbara his wife, both Second and First Lady, respectively.
They had four sons and two daughters, including Jeb, Pauline, Neil, Dorothy, Marvin and their first child, George W. Bush, who also went on to become the 43rd President of the United States of America.
The Bushes are a classic example of a successful marriage and family and have, indeed grown into an entire clan.
