Information flying around has it that former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s arrest has been ordered by President Muhammadu Buhari.
“The yet-to-be-confirmed arrest is said to be in connection with the recent open letter written by Obasanjo to the incumbent president, touching on very sensitive state issues, most especially, the wave of insecurity in the nation,” Daily Independent reports, this morning, in its online edition.
News Express could not confirm the information.
Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore had recently called for Obasanjo’s arrest. The group, in a statement signed by its National Secretary, Alhassan Saleh, had criticised the former President over his letter to President Muhammadu Buhari, warning that the insecurity in the country could reach genocidal proportions.
“The earlier they get him (Obasanjo) arrested and dealt with, according to the laws of the land, the better. He doesn’t mean well for the country,” Saleh had said.
